Treating PTSD

Bio:  Dr. Johnson is a Fellow, approved supervisor, and now the VP of the board of directors of the Albert Ellis Institute.  He is also the director and professor of a  graduate psychotherapy program and focuses on teaching courses in short term counselling, including REBT, CBT, ACT, and DBT.  In addition, he has designed and will direct a graduate-level program in addictions.  Ongoing interests in psychotherapy include treating PTSD and co-occurring disorders, including depression and substance use disorder.

Workshop on Treating PTSD:  This half-day workshop will briefly review the evidence-based treatments for PTSD that have strong research support. The primary focus will be on how to treat PTSD using REBT in all three stages of the treatment for that disorder--establishing safety, cognitive and behavioural techniques, and building meaning in life post-trauma. Included in the workshop will be how to use culturally relevant interventions.  

Certificate: Participants will receive a letter of participation signed by Kristene Doyle PhD, director of Albert Ellis Institute, New York and this shall be issued by the Albert Ellis Institute itself.
